KasiKeys is a responsible party under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). We process personal information in line with the eight POPIA conditions.
Lawful processing
- We collect only information necessary to run the marketplace.
- Processing is based on consent, contract, or legitimate interest as permitted by POPIA.
- Sensitive information (such as ID copies) is used only for verification.
Retention
Personal information is kept only for as long as needed to provide the service or as required by law. Verification documents are deleted once the verification decision has been recorded, unless retention is required for fraud prevention.
Cross-border transfers
Where processing takes place outside South Africa (for example, cloud hosting), we ensure that the recipient country provides comparable protection or we rely on your consent.
